Slum Survivor

CMP Slum Survivor Challenge

SATURDAY 27th OCT – from 2pm

What is it?
Slum Survivor is a simulation experience designed to:
– Help people get a taste of what life might be like in a slum
– Reflect on God’s concern for the poor
– Start thinking about how they can respond

Participants will arrive and have to build their own slum house which will be home for the *night. There will also be games and activities.

There will be several challenges throughout the afternoon and evening designed to simulate some of the choices and conditions faced by those who live in slums.

It won’t be easy (but should be a lot of fun!).  Participants will be tired, hungry and may get a bit messy! It’s a great way to get a small glimpse of what life is like for 1 billion people around the world. It is also a chance for us to engage the wider community in a very visual and impacting way.

Participants will have the opportunity to raise money for TEAR Australia as well as other local charities.

Church members, friends and family of participants are invited to visit in the evening (Saturday 27 October) for a slum tour and other activities.  More details on how church, friends and family can support our participants will be available soon.

*If you can’t stay the whole night – just come for the day.
