Important Notice Regard CMP Services and Activities

Dear CMP family,

As many of you already know, the Prime Minister has recently announced that non-essential gatherings of 100+ people indoors are now prohibited under the legislative measures to mitigate the spread of the COVID19 virus.

Although this number does not necessarily affect our church and its regular ministry activities, due to a very strong recommendation by the Uniting Church Synod of NSW to “not be meeting in person in any gathering” (see attached document), as of tomorrow (20thMarch) all church services and most ministries will be suspended. Access to the CMP building will be limited. This is until we have been given permission from the Synod and recommendation from the government to regather in traditional services.

This includes:

  • Sunday Morning Worship Service (there will be no worship service this Sunday the 22ndof March)
  • Youth on Friday Nights
  • Kids Church
  • Bible Studies and other CMP ministry groups
  • Access to the CMP building (staff are consulting with CMP room hirer’s regarding future arrangements)

Our priority is that we stay connected as a church family and that we continue to be a blessing to our community. Therefore, our building may be closed, for most activities, but church is not! The building will continue to be available for personal prayer.

The staff at CMP are working hard to come up with ideas on how we stay connected as a community and to move our worship service online. We will keep everyone updated via Facebook, the CMP website, and SMS when we have an online service available.

We will continue to staff the church office, so please ring 9387 2300 if we can assist you with any needs or email [email protected].

Arrangements are being reviewed regularly. Our church council has appointed Susan Adams, John Watt, Richard Wills, and myself to make decisions as events unfold.

We encourage you to be prayerful for your own needs, the needs of the CMP family, and those in the community around us.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

With you in prayer,
Peter Godwin
